The first time you work on an iMovie project using a JAMS lab Mac, you may be shocked to find that there is no Save button.
This doesn’t mean there’s no way to save your work. In fact, everything you do in iMovie is automatically saved to the computer. The tricky part is getting your iMovie project off of the computer and into your class folder.
To do this, you’ll need to find the Movies folder on the JAMS Lab Mac (you can just search for “Movies.”) Depending on the Mac’s Operating System (Snow Leopard or Mavericks), the Movies folder will contain either two folders or two files (which are actually folders–it’s weird, I know.) Either way, you’ll copy both items in the Movies folder to your class folder.
If you need to continue working on your iMovie project after you’ve copied it to your class folder, you can just reverse this process—copying the two iMovie items from your class folder into the Movies folder on the JAMS Lab Mac.
Detailed written instructions on this process (and instructions on how to use iMovie) can be found on the JAMS Tech Resources for Students page.
